Don 3: Ranveer Singh Set To Finish Shooting In 4 Months, Locations Include London And Germany
Ranveer Singh is set to lead Don 3 , the highly anticipated directorial project by Farhan Akhtar , which was unveiled last year along with the announcement of Kiara Advani as his co-star. While Singh has maintained secrecy regarding his plans for the film, a recent report discloses that filming is scheduled to commence by the year's end, with a goal to wrap up production within four months, primarily in international locations.
“A few days ago, Farhan Akhtar has reached London with the core team of this film. He has gone there to finalize the location for the shooting of Don-3. Apart from London, the production team will also go to Germany. It is possible that apart from London, the film will also be shot in many cities of Germany,” reported Dainik Bhaskar.
Citing sources, Dainik Bhaskar also claimed that the shooting for Don 3 is scheduled to commence “after August this year and will complete it by December.” As of now, Farhan Akhtar and his team have not provided any official reaction to these reports.
Last year, Farhan Akhtar confirmed that Ranveer would be taking over the role from Shah Rukh Khan in the Don series. Accompanied by a teaser announcement, Akhtar unveiled this news. In the teaser, Ranveer stated, “Sher jo so raha hain woh jagega kab, puchte hai yeh sab. Unse keh do phir jaag utha hoon main, aur phir samne jald aane ko." This revelation sparked a divided reaction on social media.
In a later interview with BBC Asian Network, Farhan Akhtar addressed the backlash he faced for replacing Shah Rukh Khan in Don 3. “I’m just really looking forward to get it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He’s great for the part. He’s also as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous, about the thing you’re filling some big shoes before you. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it and everyone was like ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?.’ That whole thing happened then,” Akhtar shared, reflecting on the parallels between the two casting transitions.
