Project Kalki 2898 AD: Prabhas' Futuristic Film Unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con 2023

Indian cinema reached a significant milestone as " Project K " (Kalki 2898 AD) became the first-ever Indian film to debut at the prestigious San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2023. The much-anticipated event, held yesterday, saw the unveiling of the film's title, teaser, and release date, showcasing a futuristic world with stellar performances from actors Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone , and Prabhas as fierce warriors.

Earlier, an initial look of the film had left fans unimpressed, prompting the makers to release a revamped version that garnered a much better response.

Project Kalki 2898 AD : A Glimpse into the Future


Directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, Project Kalki 2898 AD is a multi-lingual sci-fi film set in the distant future. The teaser presents Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Prabhas as formidable warriors embroiled in a gripping war-like scenario. The film promises to transport audiences to a world that marries the richness of Indian lore and superheroes with cutting-edge technology.


Exciting Cast at San Diego Comic-Con

The SDCC event was graced by renowned actors Prabhas, Kamal Haasan , and Rana Daggubati, who engaged with fans and attendees, building anticipation for the movie's release. However, Deepika Padukone was notably absent from the event due to her commitment to support the ongoing strike by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (SAG-AFTRA) in the US, as she is a member of the organization.


Times Square Teaser Unveiling

As a thrilling precursor to the SDCC premiere, Project K's billboards across Times Square in New York City displayed the enticing message, "First glimpse on July 20," generating buzz and excitement among movie enthusiasts worldwide. Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Rana Daggubati were also spotted in the US ahead of the event, creating a stir with their relaxed and semi-formal appearances.

Project K: A Gateway to Indian Superheroes

Director Nag Ashwin expressed his enthusiasm for bringing Indian lore and superheroes to the global stage, stating, "India is the home of some of the greatest lore and superheroes ever written. We feel that our film is an attempt to bring out and share this with the world. And Comic-Con gives us the perfect stage to introduce our story to a global audience."


The sci-fi extravaganza, Project Kalki 2898 AD, is set to hit theaters in 2024.
