Revenge Bedtime Procrastination

The act of being awake past the usual bed time even after being exhausted under the work pressure and deadline to be met is revenge bedtime procrastination. To seek personal pleasure time, even when they are exhausted.Usually this is done to compensate for a highly demanding day, taking revenge from the daytime hours that lack control or free time. This is simply done by doom scrolling or including any leisure activity despite being exhausted. This practice is followed by most GenZs, as they also claim that it increases their productivity.

Parallel Play

This act is borrowed by child psychology, where adults spend time together while doing different things. Together but separated, people don't wish to compromise on their choices or preferences. Either one can do anything of their choice, just vibes and mutual presence. There is no pressure to talk or hold any conversations. It helps the adults to alter loneliness while saving their social energy and removes the social anxiety of small talk. For a generation navigating heavy burnout, parallel play returns to enjoy the simple, calming, presence of others without the pressure of active participation.

Aura Farming

This is used as a GenZ slang for actively curating your personality, aesthetic and to appear effortlessly cool among public or any online platforms. Whether it be a dramatic airport walk, or a carefully timed instagram story. Doing what you love unapologetically without seeking any direct validation of any sort. Expressing yourself authentically in a unique style, talent or skill. Even if it looks like the person is trying too hard to gain attention, the internet considers it performative. Desperately manufacturing moments to look cool will cause you to lose aura points. The goal remains simple maximise the vibe but it should look effortless.

Soft Living

It is the anti-hustle manifesto movement that rejects toxic productivity, burnout culture in favour of balance, rest and protecting one’s peace. Instead of tying self-worth to career exhaustion, young adults prioritize ease, boundaries, and slow, intentional living. They replace high pressure, loud parties with low based hangouts. Treating mental health and saying “NO” as forms of overcommitting energy. They treat themselves with tiny, immediate comforts to get through the realities of daily life. They maintain their own personal space by keeping love lives and friendships offline and free from the pressure of public curation or social media validation.
