Gold Rates Dip Across Major Indian Cities
The price of gold dropped again across India, with both 22-carat and 24-carat variants witnessing a notable slide:
While 24-carat gold, prized for its purity, remains the preferred choice for investment, 22-carat gold continues to appeal to jewellery buyers for its durability and value.
Silver Also Edges Lower
Silver prices mirrored the downward trend, slipping by ₹100 to ₹99,800 per kg in Mumbai. On the MCX, silver futures declined 0.75% to ₹97,091 per kg.
Global Factors Add Pressure
On the global front, spot gold fell by 0.5% to $3,300.59 an ounce, marking a weekly drop of 1.7%. US gold futures also declined 0.5% to $3,298.30. A 0.2% rise in the US dollar index made the yellow metal more expensive for international buyers, further pushing prices down.
