All airports in Nepal, including the busy Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, have been shut since Tuesday afternoon. No flights have taken off or landed since 2 pm, leaving hundreds of travellers stranded. Authorities will reassess the situation on Wednesday afternoon before deciding whether to reopen.

In light of the deteriorating situation in Nepal, the Indian government has issued a travel advisory for its citizens, recommending that they postpone any non-essential travel to the country. Air India has also cancelled its flights to Kathmandu. These actions have been taken to ensure the safety of Indian citizens who are either stranded in Nepal or planning to travel there.
