Aadhaar Goes Smart: New App Makes Digital ID Safer and Simpler!

In a major digital leap, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched a brand-new Aadhaar mobile app on Tuesday, promising a more secure, accessible, and user-friendly experience for Indian citizens.

Built in collaboration with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the app introduces AI-powered features like real-time face ID authentication and QR code-based instant verification. The goal? To eliminate the need for carrying physical Aadhaar cards or photocopies.

Vaishnaw shared a demo video on X, calling attention to the app’s core feature: “New Aadhaar App Face ID authentication via mobile app. No physical card & No photocopies,"

• Face ID Authentication: Users can verify their identity just by looking at their phone.

• QR Code Verification: Instant verification is now just a scan away.

• Privacy First: Share only what’s needed—with full control over your personal data.

• Digital Convenience: As easy as making a UPI payment.

“This app gives users the power to share their Aadhaar details securely and only when they choose to,” Vaishnaw said. The app is currently in its beta (testing) phase.
