How to Install a Smart Meter in UP
To get a smart meter installed, visit the official website of UP Power Corporation at uppclonline.com. Click on "Apply for New Connection" on the homepage, and proceed to register on the login page.
Online Registration Process
Fill out the registration form with your name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number. After submitting the form, you’ll receive an OTP on your mobile. Verify the OTP to complete your registration.
Submit the Application
Once registered, you’ll receive a login ID and password. Log in to the website and fill out the application form. After completing the form, upload the required documents.
Documents Required for Electricity Connection
To apply for an electricity connection, you’ll need the following documents: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Income Certificate, BPL Ration Card, Voter ID Card, Domicile Certificate, and a Passport Size Photograph.
Eligibility for Electricity Connection
Applicants must be residents of the state and should provide proof of ownership or rental agreement for the property where the electricity connection is required. Applications can be submitted either online or offline.

The electricity department plans to install smart meters in the homes of 2.37 lakh consumers in urban areas, with the installation process starting in 40 sub-station areas, rolled out in phases.
