Why Have So Many Trains Been Cancelled?

The large-scale disruption has been caused due to the construction of a fourth railway line at Champa station under the Bilaspur Railway Division . Because of this development work, Indian Railways has temporarily suspended the operation of several trains during different dates in June 2026.

According to railway authorities:

  • 77 trains have been cancelled
  • 65 express trains are affected
  • 12 passenger trains have also been cancelled
  • Routes of 8 trains have been diverted
  • 6 trains will terminate before their final destinations
  • 5 trains are expected to run late

To reduce inconvenience for passengers, the railway administration will operate the Korba–Raipur–Korba Hasdeo Express as a passenger special service between Korba and Bilaspur from June 8 to June 19.
