Why a Second Autopsy Was Conducted

The examination was carried out in the presence of AIIMS doctors, confirmed Sub-Divisional Magistrate Divya Pate. This came after the first post-mortem was completed in Singapore, where Zubeen had passed away.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma clarified, "It (second post mortem) is not a demand from the public but from certain sections, and we have decided to conduct it with his wife's consent. We do not want to create any controversy over Zubeen."

He further said, "After an autopsy was conducted in a neutral country - Singapore, where doctors have more technical expertise, I don't think it was necessary for another post mortem. But there should not be any scope for any kind of politics over Zubeen."

Assam Police to Visit Singapore

To investigate further, Assam Police will travel to Singapore to collect CCTV footage and other evidence. The Chief Minister urged people to come forward if they have any information about possible foul play in Zubeen’s death.

Final Journey and Cremation Plans

The singer’s mortal remains were brought to the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex before being taken for his final rites. His wife, Garima Saikia Garg, accompanied the body in an ambulance, while arrangements were made for family members and close relatives to follow in a bus. No other private vehicles were permitted in the funeral procession.
