How Is This Rare Coffee Made?


The production of Black Ivory Coffee begins with carefully selected coffee cherries. These are mixed with ingredients such as rice, bananas, and other fruits before being fed to elephants.


Once consumed, the coffee beans travel through the animals' digestive systems. During this journey, natural enzymes break down certain proteins in the beans that are typically responsible for bitterness.

After approximately 15 to 17 hours, the beans are naturally expelled by the elephants. Workers then collect the beans, thoroughly clean them, dry them under the sun, and process them for roasting.
