Tomorrow will be the second day of Navratri, which is devoted to Goddess Brahmacharini, and Shardiya Navratri began on September 22, 2025. On Dwitiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha, which falls on September 23, 2025, in the month of Ashwina, this day is observed.

For Hindus, Navratri is very important. People celebrate these days with great enthusiasm. The Goddess Brahmacharini, also known as the Goddess of Penance , is honored on the second day. Goddess Brahmacharini is depicted as wearing a white saree and is holding a rosary in her right hand and a kamandal in her left. Worshippers of Maa Brahmacharini are endowed with strength, power, knowledge, and wisdom. Devi Yogini and Devi Tapasvini are other names of Maa Brahmacharini. She is among the goddesses' most elegant and tranquil forms. She rules the planet Mars and is in charge of the Sacral Chakra. Scripture states that in order to eliminate Mangal Dosha from a person's horoscope, they must worship Maa Brahmacharini.

Navaratri 2025: Story of Maa Brahmacharini
According to Hindu scriptures, Goddess Bramacharini was born as the daughter of Parvati, King of Himalaya. She then left her home and underwent rigorous penance in order to marry Lord Shiva. She lived on fruits and flowers for the first thousand years, then on herbs for another thousand, and last on broken Bilva Patra leaves for another thousand. She continued to live for another thousand years after this, leaving behind food and water. After witnessing Goddess Parvati's devotion, all the gods and saptarishis gave her the blessing to marry Lord Shiva and gave her the name "Aparna".
Navratri 2025: Puja Vidhi
1. Get up early in the morning and take a bath.
2. Light a diya with pure desi cow ghee in front of the idol of Goddess Durga.
3. Offer Shringar, white mogra and hibiscus flower, and kumkum.
4. Offer white sweets to Goddess.
5. Recite the Durga Saptashati Path and chant the Goddess Durga Mantras.
6. Perform aarti and puja in the evening as well.
7. After praying to the goddess, break your fast.
