Navratri is one of the major festivals of Hindus. Nine days and nine nights of Navratri holds a great religious and spiritual significance in Hindu religion. These days and nights are purely dedicated to worship Goddess Durga. Shardiya Navratri holds a special significance as devotees bring Goddess Durga idols at home and keep that for nine long days then perform Durga Visarjan on Vijayadashami. This year, Shardiya Navratri is starting from September 22, 2025 from Pratipada Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwina and ends on Dashami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Ashwina month i.e., on October 2, 2025 .

Navratri 2025: Significance
Shardiya Navratri holds an immense religious significance as it is regarded as one of the major Hindu festival, during which all devotees honor and worship Maa Durga for nine long days with great devotion and dedication. Through various of puja rituals, they offer prayers to the Goddess. This festival is celebrated with great grandeur and enthusiasm across the country.

In West Bengal, goddess Durga pandals are installed with various themes and many people visit there to have a glimpse of different idols of Maa Durga. Since Garba is so well-liked in Gujarat, a lot of people travel there to enjoy the Navratri celebration. The victory of Goddess Durga over the buffalo monster Mahishasura is celebrated during this Navratri. Devotees perform various puja rituals and the main motive of celebrating this festival is to show gratitude and seek blessings of Maa Durga, the feminine energy.
