Addressing the incident post-match, Head revealed his side of the story: “After hitting him for a six earlier in the over, I said, ‘Well bowled, mate.’ I didn’t expect such an aggressive reaction, and I let my emotions get the better of me.” He added, “It’s not how I usually play, and I regret my reaction, though I believe in standing up for myself and my team.”
Siraj offered a different perspective, refuting Head’s claims in an interview with Star Sports. “When I got him out, I celebrated but didn’t say anything. What he said in the press conference isn’t accurate. It’s visible on TV that his words were more than just ‘well bowled.’ I respect the game and its players, but I didn’t appreciate his behaviour,” Siraj remarked.
The tensions eased by Day 3, with both players seen sharing a light-hearted moment during India’s second innings, suggesting the matter had been resolved.
