Fans seethe as Borderlands 4 Nintendo Switch 2 is delayed with no new date
In a fresh setback for the launch of Borderlands 4, it's been disclosed that the release of the game's Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has been postponed, with no new date announced.
Borderlands 4 is an absolute riot for players who have already embarked on a journey across Kairos, but for those still undecided about getting the game, there's been a barrier of controversy erected around it. It's been incredibly exasperating to witness players battling against the game's team, failing to secure the Borderlands 4 Twitch Drops before moaning about poor PC performance, followed by Gearbox's boss Randy Pitchford getting snarky with worried players.
It's a real maze of confusion to navigate, and it's aggravating to see the dialogue surrounding the game degenerate from a discussion about its actual content and genuine concern from players into a petty competition of one-upmanship. The game deserves better, and it has seriously put off some players, including those still waiting for the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 in their region.
But the situation has just worsened for those players, as despite their patience so far, their wait seems to have been in vain as the Borderlands 4 Nintendo Switch 2 port has been delayed with no new date unveiled.

The official Borderlands Twitter account has announced that the release of Borderlands 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has been postponed, with no new date given.
"We do not take this decision lightly, but are committed to ensuring we deliver the best possible experience to our fans, and the game needs additional development and polish time to do that," the team stated
All pre-orders for this version of the game have been completely cancelled, and the team expressed their gratitude for the feedback, support and patience from their fans and community.
However, this announcement has sparked a wave of anger among fans, who accuse the team of refusing to launch a flawed Borderlands 4 Switch 2 Edition, while having no issue releasing a faulty game on PC and consoles. This backlash is significant for an announcement of this nature, and it's even more exasperating for players who have been eagerly awaiting this console release.
The reputation of Borderlands 4 is rapidly deteriorating, and now many gamers won't get the opportunity to play the game themselves to decide if it's worth the aggravation. Gearbox could do with a miracle right about now.
