OnePlus has confirmed via its India social media handle that OxygenOS 16 will officially launch on October 16, 2025, in India. While the company has not yet publicly shared a complete rollout schedule, teasers hint strongly at AI-centric enhancements and a refined user interface. This new version marks OnePlus’s move to integrate Google’s Gemini AI more deeply into its custom skin, especially via the ‘Mind Space’ hub.

Expected Features & Enhancements

Early hints and leaks suggest several upgrades and features users may see in OxygenOS 16:

  • Deeper Gemini / AI integration: The updated OS is likely to allow the Gemini assistant to access content stored in Mind Space (a hub where users save snippets, images, tickets, etc.), making it easier to plan trips or answer contextual queries.

  • Full-screen Always On Display (AOD): Rather than a limited portion, the entire screen may serve as an always-on display, showing richer glanceable info.

  • Visual refresh / design tweaks: OxygenOS 16 is expected to adopt Material 3 'Expressive' design elements, updated icons, smoother animations, and possibly transparency / ‘liquid glass’ effects reminiscent of iOS 26 styling.
  • Lock-screen widgets & UI refinements: Leaks suggest new lock-screen widget options, refined notification and settings panels, and a cleaner layout overall.
  • Continuation of core OxygenOS values: Expect the OS to preserve the light, fast, and fluid feel that has been a hallmark of OxygenOS, while layering in smarter capabilities.

  • Expected to receive the update

    • Flagships: OnePlus 15, OnePlus 13, 13R, 13s, OnePlus 12, 12R, OnePlus 11, 11R, and the foldable OnePlus Open.

  • Nord / Mid-range series: OnePlus Nord 5, Nord 4, Nord 3; Nord CE5, CE4, CE4 Lite.

  • Tablets: There is speculation that OnePlus Pad 3, Pad Lite, and Pad 2 might be considered for the update.
  • Devices likely to be excluded

Older devices, particularly those of the OnePlus 10 series (such as OnePlus 10 Pro, 10T, 10R) and earlier Nord / N-series models, are less likely to receive OxygenOS 16.
In the case of the Nord CE4 / CE4 Lite and Nord 3, OxygenOS 16 may be their final major update, aligning with OnePlus’s promised support timelines.

    Rollout Expectations & Notes

Even though the launch is set for October 16, the update won’t reach all eligible phones at once. OnePlus is expected to roll it out in phases, prioritizing newer flagships first, followed by older flagships and mid-range devices.
Also, regional availability, carrier approvals, and internal testing may influence the schedule per market.
