Legal Action Initiated Against Officials Over Land Dispute in Etah District

In a significant development in the Avagarh area of Etah district, an FIR has been filed against 17 individuals, including a former Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), a Tehsildar, and several revenue department employees, following a court order nearly nine years after the initial land dispute arose. The police confirmed this information on Tuesday.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Avagarh, Akhilesh Dixit, stated, “The FIR was registered based on the directive from the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court, and legal proceedings will follow after the investigation.”
The victim alleged that local goons, in collusion with revenue officials, attempted to seize her ancestral property. According to police sources, Kanthshree, a resident of Khatota village, filed a petition in court claiming that her father, Banarsi Lal, had legally bequeathed agricultural land and a house to her. However, the accused allegedly forged a will with the help of revenue officials to transfer the property into their names.
The list of 17 accused includes former SDM Mahipal Singh, Tehsildar BK Chhatrapati, a Lekhpal, a revenue inspector, along with individuals named Shivraj, Satyabhan Singh, Premvati, Pradeep Yadav, and others. SHO Akhilesh Dixit confirmed that the case has been registered as per the court's order, and legal action will be taken following the investigation.
