Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta, And Mahindra Scorpio Record Highest-Ever Sales In September 2025
Three of India’s most popular SUVs -Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta, and Mahindra Scorpio - registered record-breaking sales in September 2025, according to official data released by the automakers and industry reports.
Tata Motors recorded its highest-ever monthly passenger vehicle sales of 60,907 units, representing a 47 percent year-on-year increase, as reported by The Economic Times. The company attributed this growth to robust demand across its product portfolio. Within this, the Tata Nexon alone contributed over 22,500 units, marking its highest monthly tally to date, according to India Today. The Nexon continues to perform strongly in both its internal-combustion and electric variants.
Hyundai Motor India also achieved an all-time record, selling 70,347 units in September 2025, reflecting 10 percent year-on-year growth, according to The Times of India. The company reported that SUVs accounted for 72.4 percent of total sales - its highest-ever SUV share. The Hyundai Creta led Hyundai’s performance with 18,861 units sold, its best-ever monthly sales figure, while the Venue followed with 11,484 units, reaching its own multi-month high.
Mahindra & Mahindra also reported record numbers for September. As per Drivespark, the company sold 100,298 vehicles in total, up 16 percent year-on-year. Domestic SUV sales stood at 56,233 units, a 10 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The Scorpio series accounted for 18,372 units, according to India Today, making it one of Mahindra’s strongest-performing models during the month.
