Though the exact time and location of the incident remain unclear, Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) officials confirmed that it likely occurred on Saturday. Security personnel are examining the footage to trace the man’s entry point. “We are trying to find out where this man boarded. We don’t even know whether he wore the skullcap when he entered the Metro station,” an official told PTI.
The man reportedly boarded the Purple Line at Challaghatta station after scanning a QR code and exited at Kengeri station. Begging in metro trains is prohibited, and officials are investigating how he managed to enter despite security measures.
This isn’t the first instance of such an event. In November 2023, a similar case was reported on the Green Line, sparking public criticism. Social media users questioned how the man bypassed metro security. One X user commented, “"How can they enter the metro without a ticket? Isn’t the gate automatica here like Delhi?
