This unprecedented decision, disclosed alongside the unveiling of the centrally-contracted players' list, reflects a strategic shift towards harnessing specialised skills within the bowling department.

"In addition to the annual contracts, India's selection committee also recommended fast bowling contracts for specific players, recognising their specialised skills and potential contributions in the bowling department," the BCCI disclosed.

A delightful revelation on the roster is Umran Malik, whose blazing speeds of 150 kmph during IPL-2022 garnered attention, despite his absence from the Indian team for the past year.
