Instagram has rolled out a new update that allows creators to pin their own comments on posts and Reels. Until now, this option was only available for audience comments, but with the latest update, creators can spotlight their own thoughts, calls-to-action, or clarifications right at the top of the comment section.

This change is simple yet powerful, ensuring that key messages don’t get lost among hundreds of replies and remain visible to audiences at all times.

How This Feature Helps Creators

For creators, this update brings new opportunities to guide conversations and boost engagement. A pinned comment can be used to:

  • Share important links or updates.
  • Provide extra context to a post.
  • Encourage specific interactions such as “tag a friend” or “check the link in bio.”

By keeping their own comments at the top, creators can control the tone of discussions, reinforce their messaging, and make sure audiences see what matters most.

No More Buried Comments

Often, creator comments get buried under hundreds of replies, making it hard for audiences to notice important notes or updates. This new feature solves that problem.

Interestingly, the change comes shortly after Instagram head Adam Mosseri was asked why users couldn’t pin their own comments. Now, with this update, creators have more control over how their content is received and discussed.

Why It Matters

With engagement being central to Instagram’s growth, giving creators more tools to shape conversations helps build stronger communities. Pinning personal comments is not just about visibility—it’s about creating meaningful connections with audiences.
