WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for iOS users that makes chatting with status viewers faster and more convenient. The update, released through the TestFlight beta programme under version 25.27.10.70, includes a ‘Status Chat Shortcut’ designed to streamline communication.

What the New Shortcut Does

The Status Chat Shortcut adds a small button next to each contact in the list of people who have viewed your status. With a single tap, you can jump straight into a chat with that person. This removes the need to exit the status screen, scroll through your chats or manually search for the contact.

The feature is currently available only to selected beta testers, but WhatsApp is expected to roll it out to more users gradually over the coming weeks.

By reducing the number of steps needed to start a chat, the shortcut encourages quicker and more natural conversations. Users can instantly respond to someone who has viewed their status without losing context or navigating away from the screen.

This addition also reflects WhatsApp’s aim to create a consistent experience across both iOS and Android platforms, with similar features being tested and introduced on both systems.

Overall, the Status Chat Shortcut adds a layer of speed and convenience that many users are likely to appreciate once it becomes widely available.
