Kerala’s latest Assembly election marks the first to be conducted after the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, bringing the total electorate to over 27 million, including male, female, and transgender voters. The state is divided into 140 constituencies across 14 districts, shaped by earlier delimitation changes that redrew several seats. The current Assembly’s term is set to end on May 23, 2026. In the previous 2021 elections, the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front secured a strong mandate, winning 99 seats and returning to power. Pinarayi Vijayan was sworn in again as Chief Minister, continuing the coalition’s governance in the state.
