Elections are scheduled to be held in West Bengal on 23 and 29 April 2026 to elect 294 members of West Bengal Legislative Assembly. 152 will vote in the first phase and 142 in the second. Votes will be counted and results declared on 4 May 2026. The Assembly’s tenure is due to end on 7 May 2026. According to Election Commission of India, 6,82,51,008 voters are eligible, including 3,49,35,123 men, 3,33,14,628 women, and 1,257 from the third gender. The campaign has centred on electoral rolls, citizenship, border security, governance, employment, development, and anti-incumbency after 15 years of AITC rule.
