The Phone Call Before the Incident

Vaishak had called Krishi before the incident to inform her that he intended to end his life. Upon receiving the call, Krishi immediately alerted his family members and rushed to the apartment. However, by the time they arrived, Vaishak had already died. No suicide note or video message was recovered from the scene.

Who Was Vaishak?

Vaishak was a resident of Girinagar in Bengaluru and had been staying at the RR Nagar apartment for the past few days before his death. He had previously been arrested in connection with allegedly threatening businessman and lawyer Aravind Reddy and extorting money from him. The criminal case had reportedly put him under considerable mental stress and he had been undergoing treatment for depression. He had also been involved in frequent disputes with his wife and had been living separately from her for around a month.

Where the Investigation Stands

Bengaluru police have registered a case of unnatural death based on a complaint filed by Vaishak's father, and a probe is currently underway. Vaishak's body was taken to Victoria Hospital for an autopsy, and police are awaiting the results before ascertaining the exact cause of death. Investigators are also examining Vaishak's background and criminal history as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Krishi Thapanda: Career and Public Silence

Krishi Thapanda made her acting debut in the 2016 Kannada film Akira and subsequently appeared in films including Eradu Kanasu and Kannadakkaagi Ondannu Otti. She also participated in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 5, hosted by Kichcha Sudeep, and most recently featured in the 2025 film Gana alongside Prajwal Devaraj, Vedhika Kumar, and Yasha Shivakumar. Krishi was seen crying at Vaishak's last rites. She has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident.
