Chennai: Student Arrested For Putting Hidden Camera In Bathroom To Film Woman Tenant

In a shocking turn of events in Royapuram, Chennai , a dental postgraduate student identified as Ibrahim (36) has been taken into custody for surreptitiously filming a woman tenant while she was bathing in her restroom. The victim, who resides in the accused's house, discovered a discreetly placed pen camera on the window and promptly handed it over to her husband. Subsequently, the couple filed a complaint, leading to the arrest of Ibrahim.

Law enforcement officials disclosed that the accused strategically positioned the pen camera with the intention of capturing inappropriate footage of the woman residing as a tenant in his Rayapuram residence. Acting on her suspicions, the woman retrieved the pen from the bathroom, only to unveil it as a covert spying device. The police acted swiftly, apprehending Ibrahim, who is pursuing postgraduate studies in dental science. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

In a separate distressing incident, a transsexual attempted self-immolation in front of the MKB Nagar police station, urging authorities to take legal action against individuals who duped her of Rs.11 lakh through their Diwali chit fund. Prompt intervention by the police prevented the tragic act, and the victim was rescued.

Adding to the city's crime report, another case unfolded on Wednesday, where burglars pilfered Rs.7 lakh in cash and valuables from the residence of a businessman in Injambakkam. The businessman, engaged in exporting flowers to a fragrance manufacturing firm, was away on business in Germany when the burglary occurred. Investigations revealed that the culprits scaled the compound wall using a rope to execute the theft successfully.
